A Day Out

On Monday we had a nice day out at Hatton Country World - home of my favourite place, Guinea Pig Village. It's so fab, more piggies than you can shake a stick at and plenty of opportunities for petting! I love Guinea Pigs, we had to get rid of ours because the dog just barked and barked at the cage, annoying for us, the neighbours & probably terrifying for the guinea pigs!!
Tomorrow we are heading to London to visit Auntie Nicky, planning a trip to the Natural History Museum and to Kew Gardens for a walk through the treetops. Hopefully plenty of photos to scrap!!

Minibook Monday

Over on UKS they have a fab little game going on aimed at using up all that stash that is clogging our creative arteries. This minibook class was Mondays challenge. It looks really impressive but it was so simple to make.Check out Voodoo Vixens blog for more of her amazing work.

Creative?

Guy made Max these glasses this morning! The boy is a Lego genius! Why is it that I have so much trouble making him wear the glasses that make him actually be able to see stuff, and yet he will happily wear these all morning!??

A challenge

I made this LO at the end of last week for a challenge set by my teammate Samm on UKS.

This post is a bit of an experiment as I am uploading the picture straight from Picassa, which seems to be working OK but how do I upload more than one picture per post? Anyone know?

Batsford Arboretum

We went to Batsford Arboretum on Sunday. We had won a family ticket in a raffle back in May.

They had a treasure hunt on where you had to find hidden 'spiders' which woudl be exchanged for £1, there were 250 to find throughout the month of August so we were optimistic that we would get maybe 5 or 6 at least, well after 2 hours we'd only found 1!!!

The weather stayed kind to us, although vlack clouds loomed for much of the morning!

Unfortunately the camera batteries were flashing red almost as soon as we arrived so not as many photos as I would have liked!

Guy made a friend who came with him for most of the morning!

All you want to do ...

... is clean out the green slimny paddling pool, you turn on the hosepipe and itturns into a full on hosepipe fight!!

It was fairly chilly, we were all fully clothed, but hey, it was fun!!

Safe & Sound

Having left for Switzerland on Friday afternoon, I finally got a phone call just before tea time on Saturday to say that Charlotte & her fellow Guides had safely arrived at the chalet. I'll relax now. I'm not a panicy kind of person, I'm not an over protective mother, but I did find myself on Saturday morning checking BBC News 24 for news of sinking ferries, coach crashes etc!!

Now I know that she is there safe & sound I will enjoy the relative peace & quiet that this week will bring (as peaceful as it can be with the remaining 3 kids at home)!

Meanwhile, I made this for the weekly challenge on UKS. Yo use 4 and 2 of something, an activity photo, circles and something secret.
These photos were taken earlier in the year when the boys were doing a sponsored skip at school to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. So we had to have a little bit of skipping tuition at home beforehand!!
