New Year, New Challenges.

Unbelievably it's been 6 months since I posted on here, a sign of how scarily fast life rushes by. Lots of things going on every day seems to make days merge into weeks into months and before we know it another year has gone.

So, new year, and time for some creative challenges to get me crafting and being creative in 2012. Hopefully a declaration of intention on here with keep me motivated to stick at them!

Firstly, I am planning on following Suzies 365+1 photo challenge plus Snap 2012 which she is hosting on UKS. Details of 365+1 are here and Snap 2012 here. Hope those links work as I am blogging for the first time from my iPad.

I am also taking sketch class called Just One Sketch which you can find details of here, as a Guider I am keep to support this lady's overseas guiding trip by buying this class, only a fiver!

Finally, I am doing this challenge, making 52 cards in a year, always handy to have a big stack of handmade cards to hand!

So, what challenges are you hoping to follow this year?

Happy New Year everyone and good luck with keeping up!

Journaling Junkie Challenge 105

This weeks challenge was to journal about how times passes.
I chose this photo of DH (at the back - bear in mind he is 6 feet tall) and his GIANT son, and his eldest and our youngest daughters. Seems like 5 minutes ago when his children were young and now they are all grown up!!

UKS Weekly Challenge

Here is my LO for the weekly challenge on UKS.
The criteria was
Use a 4x6 photo
Use a punch or punches
History theme

I used my one and only Martha Stewart border punch on one of the PP's and a photo of DH on holiday when he was small (he's on the far right). so I have met the criteria and have claimed the full 30 points for the Crafty Magpies.

New Cage

After the attempted escape - here is the new cage. After a quick phone call to Pets At Home, I was very impressed that they credited me for the old cage (no receipt) and allowed me to change it for this model - which I think may be more gerbil proof.
Time will tell.

Pesky Gerbil!

Having spent £50 on a 'Gerbilarium', I would expect it to remain gerbil proof for more than a month.
Awaiting a reply to my email of complaint!

Utilising the annual membership!

Back in the Easter holidays I bought an annual family membership for Avoncroft Museum. It was £43 and we would only have to visit twice for it to pay for itself.
So today was trip number 2. We had planned to go on Monday as they had an Edwardian Life weekend but the weather was so foul we decided against it.
They have a little phonebox corner which we had fun in.
A phone with a dial! How strange!

What I didn't get a photo of was the kids playing with the Tardis Police Box. You could actually dial it from the other phone boxes and speak to each other! It was fab!
