Yesterday we took advantage of THE most amazing weather so far this year and headed to Countrytastic at the Three Counties Showground. We had a great day (note to self - take thermos flask & picnic next time due to extotionate food and drink prices) but I think the favourite activity as far as the kids were concerned was the tractor ride to the fishing lake and a trial fishing session with a coach from the Youth Angling Project. Both boys caught 2 tiddlers (well, Guy caught 1 but he convinced the lady writing the certificates that he had caught another which got away!) but Molly didn't even get a bite! The weirdest thing I have seen was while we were waiting for their turn, several other kids actuallt hooked goldfish!! It seemed very odd to see them coming up in the end of a fishing line, but I guess it was just a big pond and they were in there - they were big too!! Wish I'd got a photo of that!
