As I am sure some of my blog readers will know, I have been working on my Forest School Leader course since January, and on Wednesday we had our last group tutorial before we are unleased onto the unsuspecting children!! In celebration of this, our tutor offered to give us a sleepover in the forest! How could I refuse
So this was the start of our shelter, lots of sticks and us just sort of looking at them wondering what to do next.
We made like a U shaped thing with 4 upright tripods, ran horizonals from them then rested sticks at an angle onto them with the plan of sleeping under the eaves. So this was the start of our shelter, lots of sticks and us just sort of looking at them wondering what to do next.
We piled leaves into these and branches etc to provide cover, and ended up with a few tarps on the ends, set a small fire in the middle to get us warm, and here I slept!
And this was some of us, bleary eyed and dare I say a little hung over the following morning, waiting for our fry up to cook!
I have to say that sleeping under the stars si not what I normally plan to do in April when a frost is forecast, but we had such a laugh and I will always remember the thrill of it! Although I am looking forward to my 5 nights under canvas in August with more excitement now!
